Shaun Maloney
Shaun is now in his second period at the club after spending one-and-a-half seasons down at Aston Villa with former Celtic manager Martin O’Neill.
• He made 138 first-team appearances for the club during his first spell after making his initial debut in a 3-0 win over Rangers at Ibrox in April 2001 and he went on to score 37 goals for the Hoops before moving south in January 2007.
• Shaun received a resounding ovation when he re-appeared unexpectedly early at Celtic Park from the bench to make his second ‘debut’ in the 3-0 SPL win over Falkirk on August 23.
• The striker was the first player to receive the SPFA Player and Young Player of the Year awards in the same season – 2005/06 when he also picked up the Celtic Fans’ and Players’ awards.
